DOVER, Del. -- Delaware State continued its red hot play and strengthened its lead in the MEAC standings with a 3-0 victory of North Carolina Central before an energetic crowd in Memorial Hall Friday evening.
The scores were 25-13, 25-12 and 25-20.
The Hornets added to their school record with 13 wins in a row to improve to 5-0 in the MEAC and 17-1 overall. Delaware State was fourth among all NCAA Division I teams in won-loss percentage entering the match.
North Carolina Central, now 3-1 in the MEAC and 4-9 overall, was the only other undefeated team in conference play entering the match.
Karen Cordero led the way with a season- and match-high 16 kills on 24 attacks for a .625 hitting percentage.

Howard 3, Morgan State 0
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Howard University used a balanced attack and a strong offensive performance on Friday, taking a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-16) win over Morgan State in Hill Field House.
The Bison hit .326 for the match.
Jennifer Bolden led Howard with nine kills, committing just one error for a .471 hitting percentage. Alex Smith added eight kills, while Tamar Wells and Cimone Woodard each had seven. Woodard hit .500 and Wells was at .462.
Kayla Diaz added 32 assists.

Maryland Eastern Shore 3, South Carolina State 0
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Maryland Eastern Shore remained undefeated at home this season on Friday night, as the Hawks swept the South Carolina State Bulldogs.
The scores by set were 25-13, 25-17 and 25-10.
The Hawks were led by sophomore Maya Hendricks' game-high 12 kills. Sophomore Jalynn Robinson finished with a double-double as she had 16 assists and 11 digs.

Norfolk State 3, Coppin State 1
NORFOLK, Va. -- Paola Matos and Shonte Seale each had 13 kills to help Norfolk State take a 3-1 (14-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-16) win over MEAC preseason favorite Coppin State Friday evening in Gill Gymnasium.
The Spartans hit .256 for the match while holding Coppin State to just .075. Norfolk State also dominated at the net, with 8.0 total blocks to 3.0, and led 6-4 in service aces.
Caris Cross had 26 assists for the Spartans, while Nicole Rodriguez led the way defensively with 12 digs.
