ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- 
Alondra Maldonado had 12 kills and Kristi Gomez added 11 to lead Delaware State to a 3-0 victory over South Carolina State in a MEAC volleyball contest on Sunday afternoon.

The scores were 25-21, 25-14 and 27-25.
The Hornets added to their school record by shutting out an opponent for the 18th time to improve to 21-3 overall and 9-2 in the MEAC this season.

Delaware State's record for wins in a season is 23 by the 1987 squad (23-6).

Maldonado posted a .529 hitting percentage in the match, collecting her 12 kills on 17 attacks to raise her percentage to .340 for the season.   

Gomez recorded a .348 hitting percentage in the contest (11 kills on 23 attempts), while also contributing two aces and five digs to the win.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- 
Howard University continued its winning ways after taking down Coppin State in four sets (28-30, 25-19, 25-17, 25-23) at Burr Gymnasium on Sunday.
 
With the victory, Howard moved over .500 (12-11) for the first time since Aug. 29 (2-1), while extending its winning streak to six.
 
Junior Tamar Wells led the Bison attack, finishing with 16 kills, five total blocks and three digs.

Junior Kayla Diaz and rookie Bria Woodard each notched a double-double, while freshman Dami Awojobi added a career-high 12 kills in the win.
 
Senior Milexa Cardona produced a match-high 30 assists and junior Essence Bell posted 20 digs.

BALTIMORE, Md. --
Gabriela Hiciano led three Bears in double-digit kills with 14 and Morgan State hit .412 as a team in Sunday's straight-set win over Norfolk State in Hill Field House.

Hiciano hit .407 for the match, committing just three errors. Madison Grace added 12 kills, hitting .379 with just one error, and Makila Billingsley had 10 kills of her own, committing just one error in 15 swings to hit .600 for the match.

Mackenzie Jefferson recorded a double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs.

North Carolina Central 3, Maryland Eastern Shore 1

DURHAM, N.C. -- 
Senior outside hitter Arlanda Faulkner ripped a match-high 18 kills in leading North Carolina Central to a 3-1 triumph over Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday afternoon inside a full LeRoy T. Walker Complex.
 
In a showdown between two programs that entered the day tied for fourth place out of eight teams in the MEAC standings, the Eagles rallied from a first-set loss to pick up their fourth win in their last five matches. NCCU (8-12 overall, 7-4 MEAC) moved ahead of the Hawks and into a tie for third place in the league standings with Coppin State.

Eastern Shore (11-11, 6-5) slipped to fifth place.
 
Faulkner has provided NCCU with at least 15 kills in six consecutive matches.
 
Senior Ammaarah Williams added another double-digit point performance with a dozen points, including eight kills and a match-high seven blocks (one solo, six assists). Classmate Celene Morris netted six kills, while both senior McKayla Young and junior Abby Vacha both tallied five kills.
