NORFOLK, Va. – Juwan Carter passed for 368 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to help Norfolk State to its sixth straight win, 31-20 over Morgan State at Dick Price Stadium.
Running back J.J. Davis accounted for 235 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns as the Spartans (6-2, 2-0 MEAC) locked up the program's first winning season since 2011. Davis was one of three players to catch a touchdown pass from Carter.
Carter completed 26 of 40 passes with no interceptions. Da'Quan Felton set a new career high with 104 receiving yards on six catches, tied for the most in his rookie season. It was his first career 100-yard game. Tremayne Talbert also set new career highs with six catches for 68 yards. They were two of 10 Spartans to catch passes.
Davis notched his second career 100-yard rushing game with 16 carries for 105 yards. He also caught three passes for 94 yards and had 36 kickoff return yards.
Linebacker Tyler Long paced the Spartan defense with nine tackles, one sack, 1.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble. De'Shaan Dixon tallied a career-high eight tackles and both Chris Myers and Marquis Hall added seven.

Dover, Del. (Oct. 30, 2021) – Quarterback Jared Lewis completed 14-of-22 passes for a career-high 246 yards and four touchdowns to lead Delaware State to a 30-23 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory over Howard at Alumni Stadium today.
The Hornets won for the third time in the last four games, and collected their third win in a row over the Bison, to improve to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the MEAC. The four wins this season are the most by Delaware State since posting a 5-6 mark in 2013.
The four touchdown passes by Lewis tied his career best. He also threw for four scores in the Hornets’ 33-27 overtime win at Wagner on Oct. 2. Lewis hooked up with wideout Trey Gross for two touchdowns. His 14-yard TD strike to Gross snapped a 23-23 tie with 8:26 left in the game. Gross had seven receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns.
Howard (2-6, 1-2 MEAC) won the total yardage battle 422-338, keyed by a 217-92 edge in rushing yards. Delaware State outgained the Bison in passing yards 246-205.

DURHAM, N.C. — South Carolina State defeated North Carolina Central 27-24 on Saturday to remain undefeated in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play at 3-0. The Bulldogs are 4-4 on the season, while the Eagles fell to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
Despite amassing 435 yards of total offense, NCCU was hampered by two missed field goals, a missed extra point and nine penalties.
SC State was charged by running back Kendrell Flowers with 121 rushing yards, including a 34-yard touchdown scamper, along with a 14-yard touchdown reception. Quarterback Corey Fields, Jr., threw two touchdowns on 13-for-24 passing for 146 yards. Linebacker Chad Gilchrist accumulated a game-high 12 tackles for the Bulldogs.
