Coppin State 3, Norfolk State 1
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Coppin State's Miajavon Coleman and Andrea Tsvetanova notched double-doubles, and Paola Caten had a match-high 18 kills to lead the Eagles to a 3-1 (25-20, 29-31, 25-17, 25-17) win over Norfolk State on Friday night inside the PEC Arena.
The Eagles move to 13-9 (7-3 MEAC), while the Spartans fall to 7-14 (3-7 MEAC).
A senior from San Antonio, Texas, Coleman recorded 16 kills, 11 digs and two blocks while hitting an impressive .273. Caten just missed a double-double with eight digs but added four blocks on the defensive end.
Chudear Tut had nine kills and five blocks on a .444 hitting percentage and Hope Casel finished with a season-high seven kills.
Tsvetanova recorded 39 assists and 12 digs along with a team-high five aces while helping Coppin outhit Norfolk, .190 to .067. Ashley Roman led all players with 25 digs.

Howard 3, Morgan State 0
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Bria Woodard racked up 11 kills and Jennifer Bolden added 10 more as Howard won its fifth straight match on Friday, sweeping Morgan State in Burr Gymnasium.
With the win, the Bison are tied atop the MEAC standings with Delaware State at 8-2.
Woodard committed just one error on 18 swings on the night, hitting .556 -- while Bolden hit .500 with just one error of her own. Dami Awojobi added nine kills, while Kayla Diaz (19 assists) and Milexa Cardona (14) split time at setter.
Woodard added a team-high 14 digs for a double-double.

Mayland Eastern Shore 3, South Carolina State 0
ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Maryland Eastern Shore made quick work of the South Carolina State Bulldogs on Friday night, as the Hawks won via sweep inside Dukes Gymnasium.
Defensively, the team had a total of 12 blocks in the match. That total is the most for the squad in conference play. Charlize Williams and Derionah Abner lead the charge at the net with six blocks apiece. Stella Johnson had just six digs in the match, but that total moved her into fourth place all-time in school history for a career in the category.
Offensively, the Hawks had a hitting percentage of .339 in the match, which is their highest output of conference play. Abner had a game-high nine kills to lead The Shore. Jalynn Robinson had her best match all-around match of the season, as she posted 20 assists with career highs in kills and blocks with four and three respectively.

North Carolina Central 3, Delaware State 2
DURHAM, N.C. -- Ammaarah Williams had a strong all-around match -- racking up 19 kills, 12 digs and four blocks -- as North Carolina Central outlasted Delaware State in five sets Friday evening in McDougald-McLendon Arena.
The set scores were 19-25, 25-18, 32-34, 25-21 and 15-10.
Williams also hit .302 for the match and added a service ace.
Arlanda Faulkner racked up 18 kills of her own, hitting .375. Lauren Janok was strong as setter once again, tallying 45 assists and quarterbacking an Eagles offense that hit .256 for the night. Williams tied with Jada Buckhanon for the team lead in digs.
Kristi Gomez led the Hornets with 20 kills.
