MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 26, 2021Maryland Eastern Shore junior Brooke Roberts was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Gabriella Ochoa Hubbard was named Rookie of the Week.
 
Roberts (Jr., Port Orange, Fla.) was second in the Colonial Classic, averaging 225.8 pins in traditional play and finishing just .2 pins behind the individual leader. She topped 200 pins four times in five matches, including games of 248 and 247.
 
Ochoa Hubbard (So., Sonora, Mexico) was 24th in the individual standings at the Colonial Classic, averaging 197.8 pins across five traditional matches. She broke the 200-pin mark three times, including a weekend-high 222.
 
Other Top Performers
Jamie Phelan (Monmouth) was fifth in the Bowl for the Cure Invitational, averaging 195 pins in traditional play.
 
Sierra Poole (Monmouth) averaged 163 pins in the Bowl for the Cure Invitational and bowled a high of 192.
 
Maya Avilez (North Carolina A&T State) bowled a 212 against Florida A&M and averaged 202.5 pins in two traditional games.
 
Pamela Warr (North Carolina A&T State) averaged a team-best 211.8 pins in the Colonial Classic, ending up 13th in helping the Aggies win the tournament.
