North Carolina A&T State Wins Colonial Classic
HANRAHAN, La. -- The North Carolina A&T State bowling team won five of the six regular-season bowling tournaments they participated in last season. It appears the trend is continuing.
The Aggies secured their first tournament victory of the 2021-22 season as they won the Colonial Classic hosted by Tulane University on Sunday.

Roberts Leads Hawks in Season Opener
HANRAHAN, La. -- Maryland Eastern Shore bowling squad now has an event in the rearview mirror for the first time in 19 months and coach Roger Petrin is feeling pretty good about what he learned about his team at the Colonial Lanes Classic.
The National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) No. 20 Hawks (7-6) won two matches in Baker bracket play on Sunday — against Alabama State and No. 18 Lincoln Memorial — and finished the event in seventh place.
After a tough start to the weekend, the team made tactical adjustments and finished with a 6-2 record over the final two days, showing a lot of growth along the way.

Monmouth Opens Season at Bowl 4 the Cure
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Monmouth University bowling team opened its season at the Bowl for the Cure Invitational hosted by Sacred Heart on Saturday and Sunday.
The Hawks went 8-2 over the two-day event, highlighted by five Baker match victories on Sunday over No. 25 Adelphi, Wagner, Molloy, and Caldwell. Monmouth was third in the field in total pinfall on both days, finishing with an average team score of 177.1 on Saturday and 180.8 on Sunday.
Jamie Phelan paced the Hawks on Saturday, earning a fifth place finish out of 64 bowlers. Over five games, Phelan put up an average score of 195, including two 200+ efforts and a high game of 242. Saige Yamada joined Phelan in the top 10, finishing ninth overall.
Yamada posted a 186.2 average across five individual games.
