BALTIMORE, Md. -- 
Coppin State's Ashley Roman led the way for the Eagles in a 3-0 sweep (25-9, 25-17, 25-16) over South Carolina State on Friday night inside the PEC Arena.

The Eagles improved to 11-9 (5-3 MEAC), while the Bulldogs fall to 0-17 (0-8 MEAC).
 
A junior from Isabela, P.R., Roman recorded a match-high 21 digs and five assists. On the offensive side, Miajavon Coleman had 12 kills, three aces, seven digs and one block while hitting .385, whereas Paola Caten finished with nine kills and six digs.

Chudear Tut had nine kills and three blocks on a .533 hitting percentage and fellow middle Ahzhi Coleman hit .625 on six kills.
 
Andrea Tsvetanova recorded 22 assists and seven digs while splitting time at setter with Kareemah Hopkins, who added 11 assists.
 
Coppin outhit South Carolina State, .352 to .000.

NORFOLK, Va. -- 
After going almost six weeks without a win on the road, Maryland Eastern Shore defeated Norfolk State via sweep on Friday night inside Gill Gymnasium.

The scores by set were 28-26, 25-22, 25-20.

The Hawks saw strong output from sophomore Maya Hendricks and Marina Cruz. Hendricks finished with a double-double, as she had a game-high 10 kills and 10 digs. Cruz had nine kills and a game-high 13 digs.

North Carolina Central 3, Morgan State 2

BALTIMORE, Md. -- 
Senior middle blocker/outside hitter Ammaarah Williams produced a career-high 22 kills with a sizzling .413 hitting percentage while completing a double-double with 13 digs and supplying a match-high four block assists to lead North Carolina Central to a 3-2 win at Morgan State Friday afternoon.
 
NCCU (6-11 overall, 5-3 MEAC) completed the season series sweep of the Bears by a final margin of 15-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 15-5. Morgan State slipped to 3-19 on the season, including 1-7 in the conference.
 
Williams added one ace to her big output to lead all players with 25 points, a new season-best total by any NCCU player this season.
