Hornets Win 12 of 20 Matches in Towson Tournament

TOWSON, Md., Oct. 19, 2021 -- The Delaware State women's tennis team combined for 12 wins in 20 singles and doubles matches at the Tiger Fall Classic hosted by Towson University last weekend.

Iris Leder and Lucia Corte led the way by going undefeated in the tournament.

Leder was a winner in three singles matches and one doubles contest. She won two singles matches in straight set, posting a 6-0, 6-0 victory vs. Mount St. Mary's and 6-1, 6-0 vs. Georgetown; and teamed with Daria Julia for 6-1, 6-4 doubles win against Towson.

Corte posted a straight set singles win against Coppin State (6-0, 6-4) and pulled out a three set singles victory vs. Towson (6-3, 4-6, 10-6).
