BALTIMORE, Md. -- 
Coppin State's Miajavon Coleman broke the school record for career kills as the Eagles swept MEAC rival Maryland Eastern Shore 3-0 (25-15, 28-26, 25-18) on Friday night at PEC Arena.

With the win, Coppin improves to 10-8 overall and 4-2 in the MEAC, while the Hawks fall to 8-9 on the year with a 3-3 mark in league play.
 
A senior from San Antonio, Texas, Coleman recorded ten kills on the night to break Cindy Okpegbue's old mark of 1,252 kills. Coleman now has 1,254 kills which also puts her 10th in MEAC history.
 
Elsewhere on the offensive end, Paola Caten recorded seven kills with four aces while coming up big on the defensive end with nine digs and a pair of blocks. Ahzhi Coleman hit .500 for the match with six kills and a pair of blocks. Jordan Celestine and Andrea Tsvetanova added three kills apiece.
 
Tsvetanova notched a double-double as she was credited with 25 assists and 10 digs.
 
On the defensive side of the ball, Ashley Roman finished with a match-high 15 digs, while Chudear Tut had a team-high four blocks.

Delaware State 3, Morgan State 0

BALTIMORE, Md. --
The winning streak is now at 15.

With a straight-set win over Morgan State in Hill Field House on Friday, Delaware State extended its program-record winning streak and improved to 19-1 on the season (including a perfect 7-0 in MEAC play).

This marks the Hornets' largest win total since winning 18 matches in 2010, and Delaware State is one win shy of its first 20-win season since 2009.

Karen Cordero led the Hornets with 16 kills, hitting .652 after comming just one error in 23 swings.

Howard 3, North Carolina Central 1

DURHAM, N.C. --
Howard picked up its fifth win in its last six matches on Friday, taking care of North Carolina Central 3-1 (18-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-23) in McDougald-McLendon Arena.

The Bison improved to 8-11 overall and 5-2 in MEAC play to sit second in the standings.

Howard boasted a balanced attack on offense, as Tamar Wells and Cimone Woodard led the way with 12 kills apiece. Both players hit better than .450, and Bria Woodard added 10 kills and seven digs.

Milexa Cardona recorded a double-double with 32 assists and 13 digs.

Norfolk State 3, South Carolina State 0

ORANGEBURG, S.C. --
Norfolk State swept South Carolina State in Dukes Gymnasium on Friday afternoon, going 25-13, 25-15, 25-9 for the Spartans' third straight win.

The Spartans are now 7-11 overall and 3-4 in MEAC play.

Shonte Seale led Norfolk State with nine kills.
