MEAC Women's Hoops: Bigger Slate on Tap This Weekend

There was originally a full slate of games on tap for Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women's basketball this weekend, but some schedule adjustments have forced some shifting.

This past weekend, Norfolk State and North Carolina Central split a twinbill in Echols Hall, while North Carolina A&T State -- the leader in the Southern Division -- won its seventh straight game with a convincing non-conference win over Delaware State.

The Eagles' Anissa Rivera was named MEAC Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, while North Carolina A&T State's Sean Kelly Darks and Norfolk State's E'Lexus Davis were named Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

North Carolina Central has had to pause all basketball activities, meaning this weekend's match-ups against rival North Carolina A&T State -- and next weekend's against Norfolk State -- have been postponed. Norfolk State will still play host to South Carolina State this weekend, but the games will be on Sunday and Monday instead of Saturday and Sunday.

In the Northern Division, Morgan State will visit rival Coppin State for a weekend twinbill, while Howard will welcome Delaware State to Burr Gymnasium.

All games are times are subject to change.
