MEAC Players in NFC, AFC Championship Games

NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 23, 2021 – A glance at the players from Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) member institutions who are playing for teams competing in the NFC and AFC Championship Games this Sunday with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
 
Antonio Hamilton, CB, Kansas City Chiefs (South Carolina State)
Hamilton has played in 16 games this season, including limited action last week in the Divisional Round against the Cleveland Browns. For the season, Hamilton has 12 tackles (nine solo) and a pass defense. Against Cleveland, he had a tackle and saw action on special teams. Kansas City will face the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday at 6:40 p.m. on CBS.
 
Darryl Johnson, DE, Buffalo Bills (North Carolina A&T State)
In 15 games this season, Johnson has 14 tackles (11 solo), including 3.0 tackles for loss and three quarterback hits. He assisted on a tackle and saw action on special teams in Buffalo's win over the Indianapolis Colts during Super Wild Card weekend, but did not play in the Divisional Round against the Baltimore Ravens. Buffalo will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday at 6:40 p.m. on CBS.
 
Ryan Smith, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (North Carolina Central)
In two playoff games -- against the Washington Football Team and the New Orleans Saints -- Smith has seen action primarily on special teams. For the season, Smith has played in 16 games, with a share of four tackles. Tampa Bay will face the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. on FOX.
