Howard 60, Coppin State 52
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The
Howard University women's basketball team overcame an early 10-point deficit to down Coppin State 60-52 inside Burr Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Howard improved to 6-2 (2-1 MEAC), while the Eagles fell to 1-4 (1-2 MEAC) on the season.
Freshman Kaiya Creek led the charge with a team-leading 12 points and four boards. Guards Jayla Thornton and Iyanna Warren each tallied 11 points apiece in the win.
For Coppin State, Aliyah Lawson had a game-high 16 points in the loss.

Morgan State 49, Delaware State 48
DOVER, Del. -- Dahnye Redd's free throws with 1:05 remaining in regulation proved to be the difference on Saturday, as Lyric Turner's last-second shot missed and Morgan State held on for a 49-48 win over Delaware State in Memorial Hall.
With the win, the Lady Bears improved to 5-2 overall, 2-1 in MEAC play. Delaware State fell to 2-5 overall, 1-2 in league action.
Ashia McCalla led all scorers with 13 points.

North Carolina A&T State 60, Norfolk State 47
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina A&T State women's basketball team defeated the Norfolk State Spartans 60-47 inside the Corbett Sports Center on Saturday afternoon in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) action. It was the Aggies' fifth straight win.
Chanin Scott had a game-high 16 points, and Deja Winters finished with 12, including 4-for-7 shooting from 3-point range.
She leads the MEAC in 3-pointers made per game.
