2020-21 MEAC Women's Basketball Statistics | MEAC Weekly Women's Basketball Notes
The eighth week of competition for Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women's basketball program should be a busy one, with a combined eight games on the docket between Saturday and Sunday.
This past weekend saw North Carolina A&T State open MEAC play with a pair of road wins over South Carolina State, leaving the Aggies 2-0 in the Southern Division. Meanwhile, all four Northern Division teams -- Coppin State, Delaware State, Howard and Morgan State -- are 1-1 in league play.
Norfolk State and North Carolina Central have not yet played any conference games.
NCAT's Chanin Scott and NCCU's Kiyana Brown were named MEAC Co-Players of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, after their respective performances this past week. The Aggies' Sean Kelly Darks earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Anissa Rivera of NCCU was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Pending any COVID-related issues, this weekend will see Morgan State head to Dover, Del. for a pair of games against Delaware State, while Coppin State will do the same in heading to the nation's capital to square off against Howard.
In the Southern Division, Norfolk State will have its league opener at North Carolina A&T State. Saturday's contest between the Spartans and Aggies will be streamed live on FloHoops.
South Carolina State was scheduled to head to Durham, N.C. for a weekend twinbill against North Carolina Central, but those games have been postponed.
