WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 3, 2020 – Adrienne Trice Ridgeway, a two-time HU graduate (2001 & 2003), was a four-year member of the Howard University women's cross country and track & field team (1997-2001), where she was an outstanding distance runner.

Ridgeway was named co-captain during her junior and senior seasons while earning the team's Women's Cross Country Most Valuable Player for the 1999-2000 campaign. In her final year, the Milwaukee, Wisc., native placed 10th overall at the 2001 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Cross Country Championships.

After her collegiate athletic career, Ridgeway served as a graduate assistant for Howard Athletics where she earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.

She began her career as a Speech Language Pathologist for Milwaukee Public Schools, but her love for college athletics and inspiration from women in Howard athletics, like Interim Faculty Athletic Representative Deborah Johnson and Sondra Norrell-Thomas, quickly led her to pursue a career in intercollegiate athletics.

Now, Ridgeway enters her 17th year with Marquette University as Executive Associate Athletic Director where she oversees academic services and student programs. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she serves as the sport administrator to the Marquette Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field teams as well as the departments designated Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee (ADID) to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

During her time with the Golden Eagles, she acted as the athletic academic advisor for Marquette women's volleyball standout and Howard volleyball assistant coach Ciara Jones, who was inducted into the Marquette University M Club Hall of Fame in 2018.

Currently, she serves as the Chair of the NCAA Research Committee.

In her spare time, she enjoys running while advocating and mentoring fellow breast cancer survivors. Ridgeway resides in her hometown of Milwaukee with her husband and nine-year-old daughter.
