DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University volleyball player Nia Spicer has been awarded a scholarship from the Got Next Foundation.

Dedicated to provide funding to reduce the financial expenses of players participating in amateur and collegiate athletics, the Got Next Foundation awards two collegiate scholarships each year to provide aid toward their educational expenses.

Spicer was selected along with MacKenzie Combo of Johnson C. Smith.

"I love volleyball because of the community it gave me," Spicer said. "I wouldn't be here without."

Spicer, a freshman setter from Round Rock, Texas, was a part of the Lady Wildcats' 2020-21 recruiting class.

"We are so very excited for this huge accomplishment by Nia!" B-CU head coach Brittany Williams said. "She is a force both on the court and in the classroom and we are excited for her future here within the Lady Wildcats volleyball program."
