MIDDLETOWN, Del., June 4, 2020 -- Delaware State head women's basketball coach Dave Caputo and his wife Denise were among some 2,000 who marched through the streets of Middletown to lend their voices to a worldwide call for justice.
The peaceful, multi-racial march was in response to recent killings of black Americans by police officers, including that of George Floyd, who died last week at the hands of police in Minneapolis. Minn.
The march ended at the Louis Redding Middle School, where a group of mostly young adult speakers urged the crowd to hold their political leaders and police accountable on social and criminal justice issues, in addition to stressing the importance of voter registration and upcoming local and national elections.
