DOVER, Del., June 16, 2020 -- Former Delaware State football star Rodney Gunter, a member of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, has been spotlighted for his continued good works in his hometown of Lake Hamilton, Fla.

Gunter was recently the subject of a Ledger.com (Lake Hamilton) feature for his generosity by paying water bills for local senior citizens.

The former Hornet usually holds an Easter giveaway for children in his hometown, but this year's event was cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions, so his grandmother suggested he do some for seniors in its place.

After five seasons with the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, Gunter signed a free agent contract with the Jaguars in March.

He competed for four seasons with the Hornets (2011-14) before being selected by the Cardinals in the fourth round (116th overall pick) of the 2015 NFL Draft, the third highest pick of a DSU player in the history of the draft. In his five seasons with Arizona, Gunter recorded 126 tackles, including 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 79 games).

A two-time All-MEAC selection, Gunter played in 45 games with the Hornets, tallying 187 total tackles (96 solo), 38 tackles-for-loss and 16 sacks.
