GREENSBORO, N.C. – Former Aggie big man Devin Haygood has signed a professional contract with NVEA Management. Haygood is currently their only men's basketball player under contract, but they do have several other athletes under contract such as former South Carolina Gamecock women's basketball player Ty Harris.

"Signing with NVEA Management is just the beginning of a new process," Haygood said. "It means I'm back to the beginning. I'm back to being a rookie and I have to approach it differently this time around. I have to be prepared for the challenge and I have to be prepared for the learning curve I will face."

Haygood is coming off a senior campaign in which he averaged 7.7 points and 4.2 rebounds as well as swatting shots for a team-high 43 blocks. He scored in double-figures 10 times throughout the season including a career-high 19 against Mid-Atlantic Christian on Jan. 3. He hauled in a season-high nine rebounds against Kent State on Dec. 17.

Haygood spent one season with the Aggies after transferring in from Youngstown State.

"I feel as if I have a lot more basketball to play," Haygood said. "I'm very excited, but mostly I'm just thankful. God, my family, my teammates and my coaches got me this far. I want to play basketball for as long as I can. I don't care what country or what team, I just want to do what I love to do."
