NCCU Senior Salute: Men’s Tennis

DURHAM, N.C. — The North Carolina Central men's tennis team had its 2020 spring season cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the NCCU Athletics Department would like recognize its three seniors for their athletic achievements by highlighting their Eagle careers at this time in lieu of a traditional Senior Day experience.
 
NCCU is honoring its three seniors at this time as the 2020 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Tennis Championship was originally scheduled for this weekend.
 
This trio of seniors helped the NCCU men's tennis team be recognized as the NCCU Faculty Athletic Council Academic Award for small teams each of their last three seasons and an ITA All-Academic Team all three season as well.
 
Senior Pablo Juez Torres is a four-year letter winner for the Eagles. He competed in 56 dual matches for the maroon and gray and has totaled 15 singles and 14 doubles victories. Juez Torres garnered the Debra Saunders-White Leadership Award for men's tennis in 2019, and is a multiple time ITA Scholar-Athlete and MEAC All-Academic Team honoree.
 
The Barcelona, Spain, native is a business administration major with a concentration in finance. Juez Torres plans to pursue a master's degree and get a job in his field after completing his degree at NCCU in just 3 1/2 years. He is in the top-10 percent of both his business class and graduating class of 2020. His favorite moment with the Eagles was going to Savannah, Georgia, to defeat Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University on back-to-back days to advance to the MEAC Men's Tennis Championships as the No. 2 seed in 2019.
 
Senior Sebastian Bromley is a four-year letter winner at NCCU after first studying at Chicago State University. He has participated in 58 dual matches for the Eagles and has accumulated 14 singles and 15 doubles triumphs. Bromley is a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete as well as earning MEAC All-Academic Team laurels in 2018-19.
 
The resident of Louisville, Ky., is a psychology major with a concentration in public health education. Bromley, who is a member of Psi Chi International Honor Society for Psychology, next plans to pursue a Master's in Sports Psychology. His favorite moment with the Eagles was winning in the first round of the MEAC Men's Tennis Championships to advance to the semifinals.
 
Senior Brooks Campbell joins Juez Torres and Bromley as four-year letter winners at NCCU. The three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete has only participated in 32 dual matches for the Eagles, having not played in a dual match either of the past two years due to injury. Campbell, who has three singles and six doubles wins, is a two-time MEAC All-Academic Team honoree before being awarded the NCCU men's tennis Eagle Excellence (GPA) Award in 2019.
 
The nearby Clayton, N.C., product is a financial analytics major at NCCU. Campbell plans to become a financial analyst for Ally Financial after he graduates. He is a four-year Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member and four-year Dean's List recipient. Campbell is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and an Arthur Ashe Junior Sports Scholar National semifinalist. His favorite moment with the Eagles was having an undefeated team record against North Carolina A&T State University over the past four years.
