Nine MEAC Players Recognized on 2020 HBCU All-Star Team

Nine men's basketball student-athletes from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) for the 2019-20 HBCU Men's Basketball All-Star Game Experience, which honors the top 30 HBCU players in the nation.

The players recognized are:
  • North Carolina Central forward Jibri Blount (MEAC Player of the Year, First Team All-MEAC)
  • Bethune-Cookman forward Cletrell Pope (MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-MEAC)
  • North Carolina A&T State forward Ronald Jackson (First Team All-MEAC)
  • Norfolk State guard Jermaine Bishop (First Team All-MEAC)
  • Howard guard Charles "CJ" Williams (MEAC's all-time leading scorer, Second Team All-MEAC)
  • Delaware State guard John Crosby (Second Team All-MEAC)
  • South Carolina State forward Damani Applewhite (Second Team All-MEAC)
  • Morgan State guard Stanley Davis (Third Team All-MEAC)
  • Florida A&M guard Rod Melton, Jr. (Second Team All-MEAC)
Those nine players, along with Hampton's Jermaine Marrow, would have comprised Team John McLendon Jr. North Carolina A&T State acting head coach Willie Jones, the 2019-20 MEAC Coach of the Year, would have served on the bench.
 
The "First Ever HBCU All-Star Game Experience" was scheduled to take place during the NCAA Final Four in Atlanta, Ga. to "celebrate 30 of the nation's top senior collegiate men's basketball players," but it was cancelled along with sports activities nationwide due to the coronavirus pandemic.
