Bethune-Cookman 66, Florida A&M 64

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --
Ciara Thompson hit a jumper in the closing seconds to give Bethune-Cookman a 66-64 win over rival Florida A&M Thursday evening in historic Moore Gymnasium.

Shalaunda Burney-Robinson hit two free throws with 37 seconds left to tie the game, but the Rattlers went the last 1:16 without a field goal and missed both free throw attempts in the last 10 seconds to set up Thompson's game-winner.

Daniella Hatcher led four Wildcats (23-5, 15-1 MEAC) in double figures with 15 points, while Amaya Scott and Ashanti Hunt each added 11 points; Hunt also had a team-high 10 rebounds.

Thompson came off the bench to score 10.

Burney-Robinson led FAMU (6-21, 4-12 MEAC) with 26 points and 17 rebounds.

Howard 76, Delaware State 71

WASHINGTON, D.C. --
Ayonna Williams and Jayla Thornton each dropped 25 points on Thursday as Howard closed the regular season in Burr Gymnasium with a 76-71 win over Delaware State.

Brooklyn Fort-Davis also had 11 points for the Bison (15-14, 7-9 MEAC).

Howard led by 11 after three periods, and they were up 63-49 with 6:46 remaining. but the Hornets (12-17, 8-8 MEAC) slowly clawed back to within single digits, getting as close as to within four -- 75-71 after a Melissa Sam three with 10 seconds left.

Five Hornets scored in double figures, with Sam and Janasia Law each netting 13 points. Law also had 13 rebounds.

Maryland Eastern Shore 61, Coppin State 46

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --
Amanda Carney scored 12 points off the bench and Brooklyn Bailey added 10 points Thursday evening as Maryland Eastern Shore closed the regular season with a 61-46 win over Coppin State in the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center.

The Hawks closed the regular season 8-21 overall, 5-11 in MEAC play.

UMES held Coppin State to just 27.8 percent shooting for the game, including a 24-percent clip in the second half.

Alexandria Hamilton led Coppin State (3-25, 3-13 MEAC) with nine points.

Morgan State 73, Norfolk State 55

BALTIMORE, Md. --
Chelsea Mitchell dropped 25 points to lead three Morgan State players in double figures as Morgan State ended the regular season Thursday night with a 73-55 win over Norfolk State in the Hill Field House.

With the win, the Lady Bears improved to 16-13 overall, 12-4 in MEAC play. In addition, head coach Ed Davis, Jr. picked up his 400th career win.

Dahnye Redd added 14 points for Morgan State and Sydney Searcy came off the bench to score 13.

The Spartans shot 45.8 percent from the floor for the game, but were held to just 37.5 percent (9-for-24) in the second half, while Morgan State turned them over 22 times and shot 54.5 percent for the game (and over 50 percent in both halves).

Chanette Hicks led Norfolk State (18-11, 12-4 MEAC) with 11 points.

North Carolina Central 65, North Carolina A&T State 52

DURHAM, N.C. --
Anissa Rivera had 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Kieche White added 17 points, as North Carolina Central ended the regular season with a 65-52 win over rival North Carolina A&T State Thursday evening in McDougald-McLendon Arena.

The Eagles (12-17, 9-7 MEAC) have won five of their last six games.

Paulina Afriyie had a team-high 12 rebounds and was just one point shy of yet another double-double.

Homestanding NCCU led by just one at the half, and with 7:34 left in the third quarter, the Aggies held a 34-33 lead. But the Eagles closed the period on a 13-5 run to get some distance. NCAT closed to within one in the opening minute of the fourth, 46-45, but again the Eagles responded.

They closed the game with a 19-7 run.

Deja Winters led the Aggies (19-9, 11-5 MEAC) with 15 points.
