GREENSBORO, N.C. – Acting head men's basketball coach Will Jones has been named a finalist for the 2020 Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year Award, which is presented annually to the top Div. I minority coach.

Picked to finish tied for third in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Jones led a high-powered offensive unit to a 12-4 conference record. The Aggies earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament after leading the league in eight statistical categories – scoring offense, 3-point field goal percentage defense, rebounding offense, assists, steals, turnover margin, assist-to-turnover ratio, and defensive rebounds.

Jones earned MEAC Coach of the Year for his efforts.

During his time at the helm of the program, Jones helped further the Aggies' home conference winning streak to 25 games and their third-straight undefeated home conference season.

Jones is joined by a prestigious list of head coaches around the country including Anthony Grant (Dayton) and Leonard Hamilton (Florida State). He is one of two MEAC coaches to be named a finalist, joining North Carolina Central's LeVelle Moton.

Pacific head coach Ben Stoudemire was named the winner of the award after leading the Tigers to a 23-9 overall record and even spending time ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25 for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
