Bethune-Cookman 70, North Carolina Central 55

DURHAM, N.C. --
Amaya Scott recorded another double-double, racking up 14 points and 10 rebounds as Bethune-Cookman defeated North Carolina Central 70-55 in McDougald-McLendon Arena on Monday evening.

With the win, B-CU (22-5, 14-1 MEAC) wins the regular-season title outright and will be the top seed in next week's MEAC Basketball Tournament. The Wildcats are the defending tournament champions.

Ashanti Hunt added 10 points in the win.

NCCU cut the lead to two with 2:02 left in the third quarter, but B-CU closed the game on a 24-13 run.

Paulina Afriyie had 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Eagles (11-17, 8-7 MEAC).

Maryland Eastern Shore 71, Howard 70

WASHINGTON, D.C. --
Maryland Eastern Shore withstood a furious fourth-quarter comeback attempt from Howard on Monday, escaping Burr Gymnasium with a 71-70 win.

Adrienne Jones led the Hawks (7-21, 4-11 MEAC) with 13 points and eight boards. Amanda Carney added 11 points off the bench.

The Hawks had an 11-point lead after three quarters, but Howard stormed back -- using a 24-12 run to take a 67-66 lead with 1:35 left on an Imani Bryant layup. But Brooklyn Bailey ended the run and gave UMES the lead right back, and the Hawks held on -- even as Ayonna Williams hit a three in the closing seconds to cut the margin to one.

Williams dropped 23 points for Howard (14-14, 6-9 MEAC), while Bryant added 19 points and 14 rebounds.

Norfolk State 68, Delaware State 57

DOVER, Del. --
Chanette Hicks led four Spartans in double figures with 22 points Monday evening, as Norfolk State hit the road to defeat Delaware State 68-57.

Hicks add five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals. Mikaela Jones added 14 points for the Spartans (18-10, 12-3 MEAC), while La'Deja James chipped in 12 points. Both Jones and James grabbed a team-high eight boards.

Shekimah Howard added 10 points off the bench.

If the Spartans win Thursday night's regular-season finale against Morgan State, they will be the MEAC Tournament's No. 2 seed outright.

Tierra Floyd led Delaware State (12-16, 8-7 MEAC) with 15 points.

North Carolina A&T State 63, South Carolina State 47

ORANGEBURG, S.C. --
Alexus Lessears had 17 points, and Jasmen Walton added 11, as North Carolina A&T State all but assured itself a top-four seed in next week's tournament with a 63-47 road win over South Carolina State Monday evening.

Le'on Hill led the Aggies (19-8, 11-4 MEAC) with 10 rebounds.

NCAT only led by one at the half, and the game was tied at 30-30 in the opening minutes of the third quarter. But the Aggies scored 33 of the game's final 50 points to pull away and take the 16-point win.

Chrisana Scott led S.C. State (3-26, 2-14 MEAC) with 14 points.
