NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 25, 2020—Maryland Eastern Shore freshman Brooke Roberts was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week and Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Roberts (Fr., Port Orange, Fla.) helped her team to the MEAC No. 2 meet win over the weekend and a MEAC regular-season title after going undefeated in conference play. She averaged 205.2 pins in individual competition on Saturday. For the weekend, she had a 53% strike percentage, a fill rate of 90% in traditional play and 85% in Baker, and she converted 87% of her single-pin spares. She was MVP of the event and a member of the All-Tournament team.
Other Top Performers
Sydney Tyler (CSU) averaged 179.2 pins in traditional play this past weekend and bowled a weekend high of 215.
Samantha Delong (DSU) was fifth in the MEAC #2 individual standings after averaging 196.2 pins in traditional play and bowling a weekend-best 233.
Keondra Eaton (FAMU) had three 200 games at MEAC #2 and averaged 195.6 pins in traditional play.
Ericka Quesada (NCAT) was fourth with a traditional pinfall average of 202.8, rolling a 238 against Florida A&M.
Crystal Brewer (NSU) averaged 178.0 pins in traditional play and bowled a 202 against Monmouth.
Chanel Staton (NSU) averaged 169.8 pins in five traditional matches.
Taylor Russell (UAB) came in second in the MEAC #2 meet, earning All-Tournament honors after averaging 204.6 pins in traditional play.
