MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 18, 2020Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) senior Annie Hurley was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today. Norfolk State’s Chanel Staton earned Rookie of the Week honors.
 
Hurley (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) was ninth in the Mid-Winter Invitational this past weekend, averaging 212.6 pins in traditional play. She totaled 1,063 pins in five traditional games, and her weekend high of 268 is currently tied for third in the MEAC for the highest single-game total this season.
 
Staton (Fr., Chesapeake, Va.) rolled a season-best 219 against Sacred Heart and averaged 183.6 pins in traditional play at the James Brown Invitational, hosted by Morgan State, this past weekend.
 
Other Top Performers
Raja Anderson (CSU) had a single-game high of 202 in the James Brown Invitational.
 
Jazzleen McRae (CSU) averaged 173.4 pins in traditional play at the James Brown Invitational.
 
Carolyn Williams (HOW) bowled a 234 against Morgan State and averaged 187.6 pins at the James Brown Invitational.
 
Crystal Brewer (NSU) was sixth at the James Brown Invitational, averaging 194.6 pins and rolling a weekend-best 231.
