Delaware State 58, Rider 51
DOVER, Del. -- The Delaware State Lady Hornets opened their season with a 58-51 victory over the Rider Broncos on Saturday, marking their first season-opening win since an 80-32 victory over Wilmington (Del.) University on Nov. 12, 2011.
Melissa Sam finished tied with a game-high 11 points (seven points in the first quarter) and five rebounds. Sharajah Collins also had 11 points, to go along with four assists, four rebounds and three steals.
Forward DeMaurea Moore scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds. Zoe Holmes led all players with 10 rebounds, and she added seven points.
Delaware State shot 24-for-60 from the field (40.0%) and 6-for-11 (54.5%) from the free throw line.

Morgan State 65, Saint Peter's 57
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Ja'Niah Henson led a balanced attack with 12 points on Saturday as Morgan State remained unbeaten in the young season with a 65-57 win over Saint Peter's at Hill Field House.
Ashia McCalla added 11 points for the Lady Bears, while Nina Carpenter chipped in eight points and a team-high eight boards and five blocks
The Lady Bears shot 52.6 percent (20-for-38) from the floor for the game, while holding the Peacocks to just 31.3 percent (20-for-64).
