NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 22, 2020—
North Carolina A&T State senior Deja Winters was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today.
South Carolina State’s Trinity Klock was named Rookie of the Week, and
North Carolina Central sophomore Anissa Rivera was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Winters (F, 5-11, Sr., Cleveland, Ohio) went 8-for-12 from the floor and 7-for-10 from behind the arc in leading the Aggies to their first win of the season over Elon on Sunday. She dropped 25 points in the 16-point win, to go along with three rebounds, an assist and a steal. Midway through the third quarter, Elon had a one-point lead, but Winters hit back-to-back threes to put the Aggies up for good.
Klock (F, 5-11, Fr., Silver Springs, Md.) scored a season-high 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting on Sunday against Campbell, while also going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. She also had six blocked shots and five rebounds in that contest – and Klock also had seven boards and a blocked shot against Mercer. For the week, Klock averaged 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game.
Rivera (F, 6-1, So., Capitol Heights, Md.) grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds (seven of which came on the defensive end) and blocked four shots against College of Charleston. She also had 14 points on 6-for-14 shooting to record her second double-double of the season.

Sharajah Collins (DSU) had 18 points against Lincoln (Pa.).
Destiny Howell (HOW) had a season-best 14 points against Longwood, hitting four 3-pointers.
Nina Carpenter (MSU) had 10 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots against Towson.
Dahnye Redd (MSU) dropped 21 points against Towson after turning in a 12-point, nine-rebound, three-assist effort in a win over Navy.
Chanin Scott (NCAT) grabbed nine rebounds against Elon to go along with seven points, three assists and two steals.
D’Mya Tucker (NCAT) had 12 points, three rebounds and two assists, going 4-for-6 from the floor against Elon.
Kieche White (NCCU) had 19 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals against College of Charleston, going 7-for-15 from the floor.
