NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 15, 2020—
Howard freshman Kaiya Creek was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, and Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced today.
North Carolina A&T State senior Jayla Jones-Pack was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Creek (F, 5-10, Fr., Seat Pleasant, Md.) averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in a pair of wins for the Bison this past week, going a combined 12-for-28 (.429) from the floor. In a comeback win over La Salle, Creek recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds – before dropping 23 points, hitting five 3-pointers, as the Bison came back again to take a win over George Washington.
Jones-Pack (F/C, 6-3, Sr., Amityville, N.Y.) was a defensive force for the Aggies in their season opener at UNC Greensboro, blocking a game-high six shots and recording three steals. Of her four rebounds, three came on the defensive end.

Anzhane’ Hutton (HOW) recorded her first career double-double (20 points, 11 rebounds) against La Salle.
Chanin Scott (NCAT) had 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals against UNC Greensboro.
D’Mya Tucker (NCAT) dropped 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting in her collegiate debut against UNC Greensboro.
Jayah Hicks (SCSU) had a team-high 19 points, going 5-for-5 from 3-point range, in the Lady Bulldogs’ win over UNC Asheville.
