DOVER, Del. -- The Delaware State women's basketball team has added a home game against Old Dominion of Conference USA to its 2020-21 schedule. The Lady Hornets and Monarchs are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. in Memorial Hall.

Delaware State was previously scheduled to play a make-up contest against the University of Delaware on the 29th, but that game has been called off.

This will be the third women's basketball meeting between Delaware State and Old Dominion. The teams previously met in 2006, '07 and '13. It'll also mark the first time the teams will meet at Delaware State. The Lady Hornets will be seeking their first win in the series.

Old Dominion has a rich women's basketball history, ranking ninth among all collegiate teams with nearly 1,100 wins all-time. The Monarchs were 24-6 overall and second in C-USA with a 16-2 league mark during the 2019-20 season.

ODU has won three national championships, 22 conference tournament titles and made 25 NCAA Tournament appearances since the program began in 1969.
