GREENSBORO,N.C. – The North Carolina A&T State women's basketball team, winners of four Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tournament titles and nine regular-season MEAC championships, have signed three players they hope will keep the winning tradition going.

N.C. A&T head coach Tarrell Robinson announced on Tuesday, the signing of Chaniya Clark (6-foot-4, center, Fort Myers, Fla., Fort Myers), Jordyn Dorsey (5-9, guard, Augusta, Ga., Cross Creek) and Kristin Sterling (5-10, G/forward. Baltimore, Md., Pikesville).

Clark is ranked as the No. 4 player in the state and the No. 96 overall according to Prep Girls Hoops. She was ranked No. 10 at her position according to ESPN. She is the two-time reigning South West Florida player of the year after averaging 16.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals as a senior.

Also as a senior, Clark earned Class 6A second-team honors. Two seasons earlier, she helped Fort Myers win the 6A state title. For three straight seasons (2017-19) Fort Myers won the district championship. News-Press also placed her on their All-Decade team.

"Our tradition of having a dominant post continues with adding Chaniya "Baby Shaq" Clark to our program," Robinson said. "Chaniya is one of the top 2021 post players in the country. She can score in the paint with an array of moves and outside the paint with her smooth jumper. Shaq also possesses the unique ability to rebound in and outside of her area. She has amazing footwork and can play a power or finesse game. She is a stat stuffer."

Dorsey averaged 17.2 points, 3.0 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 2.7 steals as a senior earning Augusta Chronicle player of the year. She was named second-team all-state in 2016 and first-team all-state in 2019.

Dorsey is the second-ranked shooting guard in Georgia. Last season, she was named 4A region player of the year and first-team all-area as Cross Creek won the region 3-AAAA championship. The Razorbacks also reached the Georgia 4A Sweet 16.

"We are excited to welcome a competitor like Jordyn to our program," Robinson said. "She has proven to be elite in the classroom and on the basketball court.

Academically, she is No. 1 in her high school graduating class. Athletically, she is the reigning player of the year. She will share dual roles as a combo guard here. She has a very high IQ and skill set with the ball. We expect her to bring a lot of excitement and versatility to our program."

Sterling averaged 19 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks as a senior. She was named to the Maryland Public Secondary School Athletic Association (MPSSAA) and the all-county second teams as a junior. As a senior, she was named to the MPSSAA and all-county first teams.

The Baltimore Sun named her first-team All-Metro as a senior. The Pikesville Panthers won the 1A state title in 2019 and were 2A state semifinalist the following season. The Panthers also won back-to-back Baltimore County championships (2019, 2020).

"Kris committed to us so long ago that it feels great to be able to make it official," Robinson said.  "She is everything you could ask for in a basketball player. She is skilled, smart, competitive and talented. She is as strong as they come at her age and development. We envision her playing both the guard and forward spots for us. She has an excellent stroke from outside and the confidence to go with it. She is excellent in transition and will be a tough matchup for our opponents for years to come."
