Bethune-Cookman 75, Howard 59
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Amaya Scott scored 21 points and added nine rebounds and six assists as Bethune-Cookman bounced back with a 75-59 win over Howard Monday evening in Burr Gmynasium.
Daniella Hatcher added 14 points and Ashanti Hunt added 10 in her final collegiate game in front of a hometown crowd. The Lady Wildcats (9-5, 1-1 MEAC) salvaged a split of their conference-opening road swing.
Leading 40-32 at halftime, B-CU held Howard (9-6, 1-1) for 1-for-8 shooting to start the third quarter -- expanding its lead to 48-35 in the process following an Ashlie Howell bucket. The Bison never got closer than within seven points in the final 12 minutes as the Lady Wildcats connected on three of four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.
Howell and Ciara Thompson scored nine and eight points, respectively, and sopgomore guard Kiana Williams grabbed eight boards.

Morgan State 77, South Carolina State 47
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Chelsea Mitchell recorded her second straight double-double Monday night, dropping 21 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in Morgan State's 77-47 win over South Carolina State in the Talmadge Hill Field House.
Thirteen of Mitchell's 16 boards came on the offensive end.
Dahnye Redd added 19 points, while Ja'Niah Henson came off the bench to add 11 points. The Bears (5-10, 1-1 MEAC) shot 45.6 percent from the floor (31-for-68) and hit 13 of their 15 free throws, while also dominating on the glass to the tune of 42-22 (including a 22-6 edge in offensive boards).
The second quarter proved to be the key, as Morgan State outscored South Carolina State 19-8 in that frame. The Bulldogs (2-13, 1-1 MEAC) led 6-4 in the early minutes, but Morgan State took the lead back and cruised the rest of the way to victory.
Chrisana Scott came off the bench to lead S.C. State with 12 points. Jacquece Alston added 11.

Norfolk State 85, Coppin State 48
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Norfolk State took care of business at Coppin State in the PEC Arena on Monday, defeating the Eagles 85-48 in the largest margin of victory over a MEAC team since the Spartans beat Savannah State 78-42 in the 2016-17 season.
After a slow first quarter, the Spartans took a double-digit lead at the 8:05 mark of the second quarter after a Chanette Hicks jumper. Norfolk State wouldn't look back, maintaining a double-digit lead for the rest of the game. Steadily building their lead, the Spartans had their largest lead of the game with 3:32 left in regulation after another Hicks' jumper to put the Spartans up by 37 points.
Hicks dropped a game-high 24 points, along with six rebounds, six assists and five steals. Blaire Thomas finished with her second double-double of the season, scoring 20 points and snagging 12 rebounds.
Two other Spartans scored in double-figures, as La'Deja James finished with 12 points and Armani Franklin scored 10 points.
Dana Echols added a season-high eight points and eight rebounds.

North Carolina A&T State 71, Florida A&M 44
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- North Carolina A&T State would have liked a closer game just for the sake of staying focused throughout the game, but the Aggies will get over it. NCAT dominated Florida A&M from the tip and never let up en route to the Aggies' 25
th straight MEAC regular-season win a 71-44 triumph over the Rattlers.
There is not much to complain about for the Aggies (9-4, 1-0 MEAC), who won their third straight overall and improved to 5-0 at home this season. Senior C'coriea Foy, the MEAC Preseason Player of the Year, led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists on 4-for-6 shooting from 3-point range and 7-for-15 shooting from the floor.
Senior Cinia McCray came off the bench to score 16 on 7-for-13 shooting. Jayla Jones-Pack finished with her second double-double of the season, as she closed out the night with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Seven of her rebounds came on the offensive end.
Junior Deja Winters added six steals.
