North Carolina Central junior Miles Clark was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced today, and
Bethune-Cookman’s Gerhard Sullwald was named Rookie of the Week. On the women’s side,
Morgan State freshman Ana-Lei Kalawe was named Player of the Week and
teammate Stefania Moyisadi earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Clark (Jr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) was a combined 3-1 for the week, picking up a singles victory at the No. 5 spot over UNC Asheville’s Quinn Fender while also recording a pair of doubles victories – pairing with Amit Baran for doubles wins over East Carolina (7-6 [5]) and UNC Asheville (7-5).
Sullwald (Fr., Limpopo, South Africa) defeated Stetson’s Fabian Penzkofer 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 3 position for his first collegiate singles victory.
Kalawe (Fr., Charleston, S.C.) accounted for both of Morgan State’s points against Delaware this past weekend, earning a singles point and winning her doubles match alongside Stefania Moyisadi, 6-1 over Caragh Courtney and Isabella Montana.
Moyisadi (Fr., Thessaloniki, Greece) notched a 6-1 doubles win with Kalawe over Delaware’s Caragh Courtney and Isabella Montana, winning 6-1 in the No. 2 position.

Victor Castro (B-CU) defeated Stetson’s Linus Bergevi in three sets.
Arielle Nealy (FAMU) defeated Warisara Lee of Southern Miss 5-7, 7-6 (3-0), 10-8.
