NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 28, 2020 — The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced its weekly honor roll for men’s basketball and
North Carolina A&T State University junior guard Kameron Langley has captured the top honor, being tabbed MEAC Player of the Week. Meanwhile,
sophomore center Brendan Medley-Bacon of Coppin State University is this week’s Defensive Player of the Week and
Howard University freshman forward Wayne Bristol Jr. is the Rookie of the Week.
Langley (G, 6-2, Jr., Greensboro, N.C.) averaged 15.5 points, 12.0 assists, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 steals as the Aggies posted wins over Bethune-Cookman and Delaware State. Langley had a triple-double against the Hornets with 15 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds to go along with five steals. He also had 16 points, 12 assists, six rebounds and five steals in the win over the Wildcats.
Medley-Bacon (C, 7-1, So., Baltimore, Md.) averaged 17.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots, as well as 12.0 points a contest, in a win over Howard and a loss to Morgan State. In the Morgan State contest, Medley-Bacon had an incredible defensive game, garnering 24 rebounds, three blocked shots and one steal to go along with the eight points he scored. Against Howard, he had 11 boards and two blocked shots.
Bristol Jr. (F, 6-6, Fr., Upper Marlboro, Md.) averaged 21.0 points and 3.5 rebounds as the Bison fell to Florida A&M and Coppin State. He had a career-high 28 points, including six 3-pointers, in addition to three rebounds against the Eagles, while netting 15 points and grabbing four boards against FAMU.

Isaiah Bailey (B-CU) averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists as the Wildcats lost to North Carolina A&T State before defeating South Carolina State. He had 24 points and seven rebounds against the Aggies and 17 points with six rebounds against the Bulldogs.
Joe French (B-CU) had 18 points and four rebounds against North Carolina A&T State, to go along with 15 points against South Carolina State.
Cletrell Pope (B-CU) averaged 16.0 points and 10.5 rebounds as the Wildcats lost to North Carolina A&T State before defeating South Carolina State. He had a 17-point, 15-rebound double-double against Aggies.
Koby Thomas (CSU) averaged 16.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games, including 24 points and six rebounds in an 82-75 win over Howard.
Rod Melton Jr. (FAMU) averaged 20.5 points, 2.0 assists and 2.0 rebounds in a win over Howard and a loss to Norfolk State. He had a career-high 27 points against Howard.
Fred Cleveland (NCAT) averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in victories over Bethune-Cookman and Delaware State. He netted 16 points against the Hornets.
Jibri Blount (NCCU) collected his third consecutive double-double and matched a career high with 33 points to go along with 10 rebounds and a career-tying five steals in a win over Delaware State.
Jermaine Bishop (NSU) averaged 17.5 points and 2.5 assists over two games, including a 73-62 win SCSU and a 95-67 win over FAMU. He scored 20 points against FAMU and 17 against SCSU.
Joe Bryant (NSU) averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals as the Spartans downed South Carolina State and Florida A&M. He had 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals against the Rattlers.
Da’Shawn Phillip (UMES) scored a career-high 14 points against Morgan State.
