MIAMI – Alex Brown, South Carolina State graduate and Holly Hill, S.C. native, looks at add Super Bowl Champion to his list of accolades.
Brown is a rookie defensive back in his first season the Chiefs after originally entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers in 2019. Signed to Kansas City’s practice squad back on Sept. 2, he has seen action in three games as defensive back and recorded two solo tackles for the Chiefs.
When Brown first signed a contract to the Chiefs’ 53-man roster, he said, “It feels pretty good. I’ve been working all my life for this, so I am happy for the opportunity.”
As a Bulldog, Brown had 90 career tackles and seven interceptions. His senior season, 2018, was his best – as he racked up 42 stops and picked off four passes.
He also had three interceptions in 2017.
Brown will have an even greater opportunity when the Chiefs face off against the 49ers on Sunday in Super Bowl LIV at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Fla. (6:30 p.m. EST, Fox).
