Bethune-Cookman 69, North Carolina A&T State 58

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- 
Amaya Scott matched her career high of 23 points as Bethune-Cookman won its fifth straight with a 69-58 victory at North Carolina A&T State on Saturday afternoon.

Ashanti Hunt added 12 points as the Lady Wildcats (13-5 overall, 5-1 MEAC) regrouped after seeing a 17-point lead fade as they handed the Aggies (12-6,4-2) their first home league loss in 13 games.

Miakaya Wilson's lay-up with 4:18 remaining in the third quarter gave the Aggies a 40-39 lead, but Scott answered with a jumper as B-CU rebuilt a 50-42 advantage. The Aggies closed to 50-46, but Armani Walker's 3-pointer at the buzzer gave the Lady Wildcats a 53-46 lead.

The Aggies cut a 10-point deficit to five at 58-53, but a Daniella Hatcher 3-pointer and four Hunt points keyed a Lady Wildcat run that pushed the lead back to 12.

Scott hit her first five attempts as B-CU stormed out to a 22-8 first quarter lead and 33-16 on a Camary Harris 3-pointer with 4:33 left in the first half.

Delaware State 64, North Carolina Central 60

DURHAM, N.C. --
Delaware State defeated North Carolina Central 64-60 on Saturday at the McClendon-McDougald Arena.

The Lady Hornets are now 7-10 overall, matching their win total of last season. In addition, Delaware State is 3-1 in the MEAC, the Lady Hornets' best start since winning four straight games to start the 2008-09 conference season.

The win also snaps the Lady Hornets' 12-game losing streak in MEAC road games, their last win coming in Jan. 22, 2018 at Morgan State.

Lanayjha Ashe finished the game with 18 points (nine in the fourth quarter), tied a team high with seven rebounds, and also added one steal and one assist.

Kieche White led the Eagles with 19 points in the contest.

Howard 72, Florida A&M 58

WASHINGTON, D.C. --
Ayonna Williams led four Howard players in double figures with 25 points on Saturday as the Bison stopped their skid with a 72-58 win over Florida A&M in Burr Gymnasium.

Williams also had five rebounds and four steals while going 10-for-22 from the floor. Krislyn Marsh added 16 points and a team-high seven rebounds. The Bison improved to 11-8 overall and 3-3 in MEAC play on the season, despite shooting just 33.3 percent from the floor.

Gia Thorpe added 11 points and six steals. Tyanna Warren came off the bench to add 10 points.

Howard led by just two after the first quarter, but the second quarter saw the Bison outscore the Rattlers 22-10 to open up a 35-21 lead at the half. That control held for the rest of the game, as FAMU never got closer than within seven in the second half.

Alaina Rice led FAMU (4-14, 2-5 MEAC) with 22 points.

Morgan State 47, Coppin State 42

BALTIMORE, Md. --
Ashia McCalla scored a game-high 17 points and Chelsea Mitchell added ad ouble-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds as Morgan State came from 12 points down in the third quarter to defeat rival Coppin State 47-42 at the Physical Education Complex on Saturday.

Dahnye Redd grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and added eight points in the win for Morgan State (9-11, 5-2 MEAC), which secured its first three-game winning streak of the season -- while avoiding becoming the first victim to Coppin State this season.

The Lady Bears improved to 39-42 all-time against the Eagles (0-18, 0-6 MEAC).

Chance Graham scored 14 points and added eight rebounds for the Eagles. Aliyah Lawson added nine points and Jalynda Salley finished with a team-high nine boards.

Norfolk State 76, South Carolina State 42

NORFOLK, Va. --
Chanette Hicks led five Spartans in double figures on Saturday in Echols Hall, as Norfolk State upended South Carolina Sate 76-42 to remain unbeaten in MEAC play.

Hicks had 22 points on 10-for-18 shooting, while also grabbing six rebounds, six steals and dishing out four assists. Blaire Thomas added 18 points, while Armani Franklin had 12 points off the bench.

La'Deja James and Mikaela Jones each added 10 points, and Jones pulled down a team-high 11 boards.

A 22-7 second quarter let the Spartans (11-7, 5-0 MEAC) take control after a tight first quarter, sending them into the half with a 37-20 lead. After three quarters, Norfolk State was up by 19 after three quarters, and the final frame saw the Spartans outscore S.C. State 21-6.

Jayah Hicks led the Bulldogs (3-16, 2-4 MEAC) with 11 points and nine boards.
