DeLAND, Fla. – Morgan State’s Manasseh Bailey caught a touchdown pass and Bethune-Cookman’s Trevor Merritt made an interception to highlight the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) representation at Sunday’s Spiral Tropical Bowl at Spec Martin Stadium.

It was an all Baltimore connection as Bailey hauled in a 25-yarder from Towson’s Tom Flacco on the National Team’s opening possession. Bailey would finish with three catches for 50 yards as the National team downed the American team downed the National team 35-7.

Merritt also caught a Flacco pass, but he was on the American team. Ironically, Merritt’s bid for a trademark pick six was denied by Wildcat teammate Jimmie Robinson, who made a touchdown-saving tackle for the National team.

Merritt garnered American team Defensive MVP honors for his efforts, which included two tackles.

Robinson finished with 27 yards rushing on 11 carries and caught two passes for 17 yards for the National team.
