MEAC Top Times in 2019
Seven Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) cross country squads will be in action this weekend, another packed Friday and Saturday of action as teams close in on a month before the annual conference championship meet.
North Carolina A&T State’s Regan Kimtai was the only non-Michigan runner to finish in the top five at the Adidas XC Challenge this past weekend, turning in a 17:54.20 over the 6K course (conversion measurement estimates that time to be 24:17 at 8,000 meters – which would be a MEAC best in 2019).
Tatiana Ogundeko of Coppin State finished second at the Eastern Shore Invite with a personal best of 19:19, shaving nearly 20 seconds off her previous best. But Maryland Eastern Shore’s Aurelia Jepkorir won the Eastern Shore Invite with a time of 18:28.40 in the 5K.
Kimtai and Jepkorir were named MEAC Runners of the Week for their respective performances.
On Friday, Coppin State and Delaware State will run in the Delaware State Pre-Conference Run in Smyrna, Del. at the Delaware State Outreach & Research Center – the site of the 2019 MEAC Cross Country Championships.
Norfolk State will run in the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia in Earlysville, Va. – the Spartans’ second trip there this season. Bethune-Cookman will be at the UCF Knight Invitational in Orlando and South Carolina State will be running in the Queen City Invite in Charlotte, N.C.
