The Eagles have won eight of the last 10 meetings between the two North Carolina schools, including the last meeting, 34-7 in 2014. Last week, the Eagles came up short, 21-12 at Gardner-Webb, despite the defense forcing five takeaways. Kicker Adrian Olivo had all 12 of NCCU’s points, including a season-long 40-yard field goal. Senior defensive back Stephen Stokes logged a team-high seven tackles and ran a pick back 41 yards. It was his second interception and third takeaway of the season.

After a 57-20 win over Fort Valley State last week, the Rattlers renew their rivalry with a tough Southern squad. Quarterback Ryan Stanley threw for 275 yards and three scores in the victory over Fort Valley State. Stanley now has 6,398 career passing yards, which is fifth in program history, and he needs 980 yards to break Quinn Gray’s program record. FAMU’s 57 points on Saturday were the most scored by the Rattlers since they put up 60 in a win over Norfolk State in 2003.
