North Carolina A&T State running back Jah-Maine Martin's record-setting performance this past Saturday netted him another honor on Monday, as he was named STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Week for Week 3.
Martin had a single-game performance for the ages, recording the third-best rushing game in school history on Saturday at Charleston Southern. He carried the ball 25 times for 299 yards and two touchdowns, averaging nearly 12 yards per rush. He had three runs greater than 30 yards, with two of them resulting in touchdowns (of 84 and 76 yards).
He also had two receptions for 19 yards, and for the game, Martin had nine plays of at least 13 yards.
The Aggies (2-1) are ranked No. 16 in the nation in the latest STATS FCS Top 25 Poll and will not return to action until Thursday, Sept. 26, when they are at home to take on Delaware State in a nationally-televised, ESPNU contest at 7:30 p.m.
