MEAC Announces Weekly Cross Country Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Sept. 11, 2019Delaware State junior Corey McGhie was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today. Coppin State senior Tatiana Ogundeko was named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
McGhie (Jr., Rahway, NJ.) finished in first place at the Delaware State Hornet Invitational, completing the 5K course with a time of 16:40.8. He finished just over 40 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, and his performance helped the Hornets come in second in the team standings.
 
Ogundeko (Sr., Waldorf, Md.) won the Delaware State Hornet Invitational for her first career collegiate cross country win. She ran a 19.44.00 and was the only runner to break the 20-minute mark at the meet. She also set a personal best on the 5K course at the Delaware State Outreach & Research Center.
 
Other Top Performers
Infinnati Rowe (MSU) finished second with a season-best time of 20:16 at the Hornet Invitational.
 
Keegan Gould (MSU) finished second in the Hornet Invitational with a time of 17:20.30.
