BAERUM, Norway – Former Coppin State women's basketball player Brooke Fields has signed a contract to play with Baerum Basket Bekkestua, a professional team based in Baerum, Norway that plays in the BLNO, Norway's premier basketball league.
A native of Owings, Mills, Md., Fields played her final collegiate season at Coppin State after three standout years at Roberts Wesleyan College in upstate New York. Earning First Team All-MEAC and Second Team BOXTOROW All-America honors in her lone year with the Eagles, Fields led Coppin with 17.0 points per game, 51 3-pointers and 119 assists.
In conference play, Fields increased her production to 19.9 points and 4.7 assists per game while making 96-of-118 (81.4%) free throws.
Fields' 510 points during the 2018-19 season was the ninth-most in program single-season history, and the most by a Coppin player since the 2013-14 season. Her tremendous season also puts her third in single-season history in free throws made (151) and sixth in 3-pointers made (51).
In her four collegiate seasons, Fields totaled 1,736 points (14.5 ppg), 533 field goals, 203 3-pointers, 467-of-608 (76.8%) free throws, 354 rebounds (3.0 rpg), 353 assists (2.9 apg) and 145 steals in 120 games.
Fields is the second Eagles player in as many seasons to sign a professional contract overseas, as Genesis Lucas played in Albania this past season with SK Tirana.
