36 MEAC Bowlers, Five Programs Named NTCA All-Academic

BROOKLYN, N.Y.--The National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) has unveiled its 2018-19 All-Academic team and individual honorees, and 36 individuals and five programs in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) are among those recognized.

In total, 256 individuals and 36 teams were honored.

Associate member UAB, having just completed its first season in the MEAC, led the league with nine individual honorees. MEAC champion Maryland Eastern Shore and associate member Monmouth each had eight honorees.

North Carolina A&T State (5), Coppin State (3) and Florida A&M (3) also saw individuals recognized.

Five MEAC programs earned team All-Academic honors: Florida A&M, Maryland Eastern Shore, Monmouth, North Carolina A&T State and UAB.

Programs with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic year earned team recognition. For individual recognition, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic year.
