ORMOND BEACH, Fla., May 10, 2019--Florida A&M eliminated Howard Friday evening with an 8-5 win in the elimination round of the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Championship at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex.

With the win, FAMU will face rival Bethune-Cookman on Saturday in the title game at 12 p.m. The game will be streamed live on FloSoftball, and if the Lady Rattlers win, the two teams will play again.

B-CU defeated FAMU earlier Friday, 5-4 in extra innings.

FAMU wasted no time, pushing across four runs on four hits in the bottom of the first inning -- including a two-run triple from Taylor Rosier. Howard responded with a run in the top of the second, but the Lady Rattlers put up another four-spot in the bottom of the frame.

After two innings, FAMU led 8-1.

Tyra Bowers and Alexis Day each had two hits for the Lady Rattlers, and Rosier had two RBIs.
