NORFOLK, Va. – Sophomore Tuli Iosefa led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo blast to left to give the Norfolk State softball team a walk-off, 1-0 victory against Howard in MEAC action on Sunday afternoon at the NSU Softball Field.
Iosefa ended the pitcher’s duel on a 2-1 pitch, sending her eighth homer of the season over the left field wall and giving the Spartans the MEAC Northern Division championship. NSU finished the regular season at 11-4 in the league.
Second-place Morgan State, a team the Spartans took two out of three against earlier this year, moved to 10-4 on the season after a Sunday win over Coppin State.
NSU ended the regular season on a high note on Senior Day, improving to 24-18 overall this year. The Spartans have already guaranteed themselves a winning season for the first time in six years and the fourth time overall in Division I.
Howard, which won both games on Saturday against NSU, fell to 8-7 in the league and 15-26 overall.

Miriam Duen went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and classmate
Aleyah Evans drove in a pair of runs on two hits as the duo came up big in their last home game in leading the North Carolina Central University softball team past rival North Carolina A&T State University, 8-5, in Sunday's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division finale Sunday afternoon at Thomas Brooks Park.
NCCU improved to 20-24 on the season and finished league play at 10-5. The 20 wins is the most victories in regular season play in the programs' NCAA Division I era while the 10 MEAC wins are the most triumphs since joining the conference.
NCCU took the initial 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. Junior
Tamiera Sanchez started the rally with a single up the middle and a stolen base. Sanchez then scored on a single by Evans. The Lady Eagles tacked on a second run in the second run with a double steal as Duen swiped second and sophomore
Kaitlyn Macon had a delayed steal home on the throw down to second by the catcher.
The Aggies jumped ahead with a five-run fourth inning. The frame featured five N.C. A&T hits, including a two-run double by sophomore Hailee Cutts and a two-run single by senior Mohagony Headen.

DOVER, Delaware — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore softball team was defeated by the Delaware State University Hornets on Sunday afternoon (April 28) in their season finale.
The Hawks struggled on offense for the third straight game with the Hornets. Eastern Shore finished the game with one run and four hits, while the Hornets had 15 hits and runs.

Daeshia Jones (Teaneck, NJ) had an RBI groundout in the fourth inning to bring classmate
Kiana Peterson (Willingboro, NJ) across home plate to produce the lone run for Maryland Eastern Shore. Each senior had a hit in their final game of their college career. Juniors

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
Kaira Cabato and
Kayla Traylor each had three hits, but Bethune-Cookman saw its Senior Day and regular season finale spoiled as Florida A&M rallied for an 11-8 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference South Division decision Sunday at Sunnyland Park.
The Wildcats (22-28 overall, 13-2 MEAC) had already clinched the South Division's No. 1 seed at next month's conference tournament in Ormond Beach with the sweep of Saturday's doubleheader.
Cabato, a freshman, smacked her first career home run to help BCU take a 4-0 first inning lead, which would grow to 8-0 after the Wildcats plated four unearned runs in the third.
Florida A&M (22-25,13-2) got back in the game in the fourth as Seriah Brokenborough hit a grand slam to cap off a six-run outburst. After closing to 8-7, the Rattlers scored four in the seventh to take the lead.
Brianna Paysinger had two hits for BCU, including an RBI double.

BALTIMORE – Coppin State's softball team was shut out in its regular season finale by Morgan State, 11-0, on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at CSU Softball Field.

How it Happened
- Prior to the game Coppin State honored its six seniors who started in the final home games: Cayla Brown, Madison Didion, Dakota Gartrell, Hatika James, Megan Narvaez and Nicole Ullman.
- It didn't take long for Morgan State to get on the board as Damali Young led off the game with a home run.
- The Bears tacked on three runs in the second and added six in the fourth and one more in the fifth.
- Coppin's best chance to score came in the first as Brissa Alvarado singled and Brown was hit by a pitch to follow. The Bears retired the next two batters to get out of the jam.
