WICKLIFFE, Ohio, April 12, 2019--
Maryland Eastern Shore kept its hopes of an NCAA title alive Friday morning with a 2-1 Mega Match win over Sacred Heart in the 2019 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Bowling Championship.

The Hawks will take on Stephen F. Austin on Friday at 3 p.m. Stephen F. Austin defeated No. 2 seed McKendree on Thursday. The match will be streamed live on NCAA.com. If Maryland Eastern Shore wins, the two teams will play again on Saturday at 9 a.m. Is Stephen F. Austin wins, the Hawks are eliminated and SFA advances to the title match.

Maryland Eastern Shore opened the morning with a 1,104-946 win in traditional team play -- thanks in large part to a 221 from both MEAC Player of the Year Cayla Hicks and Danielle August. Paulina Torres added a 215 for Maryland Eastern Shore.

But Sacred Heart bounced back in Baker total pinfall action, winning three of the five games outright and emerging with a 965-935 pinfall advantage to force the best-of-seven Baker round.

There, the Hawks caught fire, winning four of the five matches to claim the win and eliminate the Pioneers.
