Maryland E. Shore Drops NCAA Bowling Opener to McKendree

WICKLIFFE, Ohio, April 11, 2019 --
Maryland Eastern Shore dropped its first match of the 2019 NCAA Bowling National Championship Thursday morning, falling 2-0 to No. 2 seed McKendree in Mega Match format.

The Hawks, who won the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title and claimed the conference's automatic bid, will bowl in the loser's bracket at 3 p.m. against Sam Houston State. That match will be streamed live on NCAA.com.

McKendree took the opening traditional team match 1,021-920 before taking the Baker total pinfall round 927-774.
