MEAC Champion North Carolina Central Heading to Dayton for First Four

North Carolina Central, fresh off its third straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men's basketball tournament championship, will head to Dayton, Ohio on Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. to face North Dakota State in the NCAA Tournament's First Four.

The winner of that game will take on No. 1 overall seed Duke on Friday in Columbia, S.C.

The Eagles (18-15) defeated Norfolk State 50-47 on Saturday in Norfolk Scope Arena to claim the title. They are the first MEAC program to win three straight men's basketball tournament titles since North Carolina A&T State won seven in a row from 1982-88.

North Dakota State (18-15) won the Summit League tournament title on Tuesday, defeating Omaha 73-63.
