MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors

NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 12, 2019—North Carolina A&T State sophomore Ana Olaya was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference office announced today.
 
Olaya (So., Bogota, Colombia) bowled a career-high 1,077 in a five-game stint for an average of 215.4 pins, claiming the top spot in the individual standings at MEAC Meet #2 this past weekend. Of the five traditional games competed in, Olaya scored 200-plus points in four contests, setting the tone by scoring a 222 to open the weekend against Delaware State, which were followed by performances of 197, 238, 208 and 212.
 
Other Top Performers
Alexis Neuer (DSU)
accumulated a total pinfall of 990 for an overall average of 198 on the weekend, scoring 226 against Bethune-Cookman and 216 against North Carolina A&T State, earning second place of 75 competitors.
 
Monique Ragland (FAMU) averaged 188.6 pins and had two games over 200.
 
Shykeia Spinks (HOW) averaged 179 pins in five traditional games.
 
McKayla Lang (NSU) finished with the highest average of 181.8 on her team, while also rolling a 209 in a win against Howard.
