NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 13, 2019—Morgan State sophomore Asmara Rose was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Morgan State’s Jourdan Wallace was named Rookie of the Week.
 
Rose (So., Baltimore, Md.)
went 2-0 on the week in singles action and finished 1-1 in doubles play. She defeated La Salle’s Ali Snyder 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles position, and she also paired with Peggy Rooke for a 6-0 doubles victory in that match. She followed that up with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Hofstra’s Jasmine King in the NO. 3 position.
 
Wallace (Fr., Compton, Calif.) recorded her first win of the season with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Ana Canahuate-Torres of Hofstra, while also picking up the doubles win the No. 1 slot, 7-6 (6-4) alongside Averiana Mitchell.
