Postseason play is well underway in NCAA Div. I volleyball, and on Friday, two Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) teams will be taking part.

Howard will make its fifth straight NCAA Volleyball Championship appearance, taking on Pitt -- the No. 2 team in the nation and the tournament's No. 6 seed -- on the Panthers' home floor, while North Carolina A&T State will square off against Troy in Atlanta, Ga. in the first round of the National Invitation Volleyball Championship (NIVC).

The Aggies (16-14) will be making their postseason debut, taking on Troy at 4 p.m. North Carolina A&T State won the Southern Division regular-season crown this year, and they boast Co-Player of the Year Edie Brewer, Coach of the Year Hal Clifton and First Team honorees Brewer and Courteney Pitt.

Troy (22-9) went 10-6 in the Sun Belt this season before falling in Texas State in the semifinals of the conference tournament. The Trojans are led by outside hitter Cheyenne Hayes and setter Amara Anderson, both of whom were named First Team All-Sun Belt. Defensive specialist Lacy Jeffcoat was named to the Sun Belt All-Tournament Team.

Howard (20-12) will take on Pitt at 7 p.m. The Bison won the MEAC title for the fifth straight season with a five-set win over Morgan State. The Bison boast the MEAc Rookie of the Year in Tamar Wells, as well as First Team All-MEAC selection Kira Porter.

Pitt (29-1) went undefeated in the ACC this season and is on an 18-match winning streak. The Panthers are ranked No. 2 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll. Junior outside hitter Kayla Lund has been named the ACC's Player of the Year, and she was joined on the All-ACC First Team by junior rightside Chinaza Ndee and senior middle Layne Van Buskirk.
